I love it when a family decides to have a yearly family portrait session to document the good time together. This family of 6 here did their photo session during Hari Raya. Seeing them match their baju (outfits) with all the family members was lovely, and the outcome was adorable! I love the overall yellow, white, and earth tones in different shades, plus some outstanding green and purple tones.
Getting ready for the family portrait session as a family is a nice kind of bonding activity. Everyone works as a team to make it work and make sure everyone looks good.
This family planned to have the photos taken in the comfort of their home. Before the photo session, we asked for the family members' information to learn more about everyone, which helped us a lot during the photo session. They also told us that as a family, “we spend quite a lot of time together, especially growing up, always going on trips.”. It's always delightful to learn about the uniqueness of each family.
After the shoot was done, this is what I heard from them:
One of the sisters loves the parents' photos: “I think it’s my first time in a long time seeing my parents so loving towards each other; I think it’s a good activity for us as a family too!”
Here is a salam session, which was heartwarming to see. The children kneel and bow to their parents. In return, the parents gave their blessings and duit raya (Eid money) to their children.
After they receive the framed photo, they said:
“Thank you again for the framed photo! My parents are very happy. They said it’s very nice, and you are very pandai (talented) hahaha. They also want to belanja (treat) you to dinner haha!”
We’re beyond grateful for the opportunity to capture memories for families.
